SWADE Trappings Menu — Opens the library

The library window's pane layout, its collapsed folders and your recent assets are remembered on your computer without showing up as settings. The library belongs to the world; assignments are stored on the items.

Who edits and assigns

GMs and other users with the Modify Configuration Settings permission can edit library code; everyone else sees the library read-only. Saving needs a connected GM: socketlib sends every change to the active GM's client, which checks the sender's permission and applies changes one at a time.

Changes to different entries merge. If someone else saved an entry while you were editing it, your save is rejected and your draft stays in the editor. Copy anything you want to keep, reopen the entry and reapply your changes. Export the library before large reorganizations.

Owning an item never lets a player edit library code. With Players assign animations on, players may assign existing macros to items they own. Bulk assignment is for GMs only and respects compendium locks and document permissions.

Playback and synchronization

A live roll plays its macro on the rolling user's client, after the Dice So Nice wait. Template and effect macros play in the browser tab that created the template or effect, so a user logged in twice (say, a GM with a second screen) does not see them twice. Rows without an assignment play nothing. Sequencer shares the playback with everyone; fx.shake and fx.nudge send only the picture motion, never a token update.

Previews play the same way. Preview templates are visible to GMs only, but players still see the animation, so set up your library when shared previews won't disturb a session.

The active GM applies library saves and removes preview templates left behind. The module's own socket carries shakes, nudges and macro error reports; socketlib carries library saves. Optional modules only add context or timing; you can write macros without them.
