Getting Started
Install
You need Foundry VTT v14, SWADE 6.0 or later, Sequencer and socketlib, plus a Sequencer asset pack or your own media files. SWADE Clarity and Dice So Nice are optional.
Paste this URL into Foundry's Install Module dialog:
https://someto.de/flaig/swade-trappings/releases/download/latest/module.json
Enable the module and its dependencies in your world and reload. GMs open the library from the token controls; everyone can open it from Configure Settings → SWADE Trappings. Saving library changes needs a connected GM.
Build a macro
Choose New and pick a starter. Its code has three sections:
- Assets: Sequencer database keys or file paths. Slots marked
(needed)are required; an empty optional slot switches its layer off. - Options: color, size, timing and behavior switches.
- Animation: the sequence itself, with a branch for each outcome.
For a first test, choose Basic ranged and fill only PROJECTILE: put the cursor between its empty quotes, click Insert asset, pick a projectile and choose Use this. Add IMPACT, MUZZLE, GROUND or SOUND later; SOUND needs an audio asset.
Give the macro a clear name and, if you like, a folder and tags. Press Save or Ctrl+S. Previews run the code in the editor without saving, but item actions always play the saved version.
Preview
Select a token, target another one and press Play, then try the outcome buttons. Trait macros such as Cast on target and Flash also preview without a target; damage previews need one. Template macros create a temporary template: choose SBT, MBT, LBT, Cone, Small cone or Stream.
As item fills swade.item, swade.power, swade.attack and swade.action from one of the selected token's items. Use it to test colors that follow a power's trapping. Preview outcomes are forced examples, not real rolls. Preview templates are visible to GMs only; the animations and token movements play for everyone connected.
Assign and play
Open the weapon's or power's sheet and choose Animations in its header controls. Pick a macro in the matching row, or drag it from the library onto the row. Each row offers only macros of its event: trait macros in trait rows, damage macros in damage rows, and so on.
Now use the action on the SWADE item card. A macro assigned to the trait row does not also play for damage or template placement; assign those rows separately. Library and Assignments explains the other rows and bulk assignment.
