postFX

Colour grading for your whole scene in Foundry VTT v14. Make a scene warm and golden, cold and bleak, or drained of colour, and fade between moods while the players watch.

Features

  • Grades the whole scene: map, tiles, tokens and lighting together; the interface stays as it is.
  • Familiar controls: exposure, contrast, saturation, temperature, shadows, midtones, highlights, tint and strength, plus master and RGB curves.
  • Preview first: changes show only on your screen until you click Apply, with compare, undo and reset.
  • Looks: built-in starting looks and your own, shared between the world's GMs.
  • Fades: blend to the new look over up to 5 minutes; late joiners see the fade at the right point.
  • Per scene and macro-friendly (see below).

Using it

Click the sliders button at the bottom of the scene controls, or open Scene Configuration → Environment → Open postFX color grading. Only GMs can save grades.

Macros

const grade = postFX.get();                                      // the current scene's grade
await postFX.apply({...grade, exposure: -0.2, temperature: 0.2});
await postFX.clear(undefined, {seconds: 3});                     // fade to neutral
const preview = postFX.preview({...grade, saturation: 0.4}); // only on your screen
preview.release();

Every call takes an optional Scene or scene ID; apply and clear take {seconds} for a fade and need a GM.

Settings

  • Enable postFX on this client (default on): off shows scenes without grading on this computer.

Good to know

  • Detail that is already pure white or black can't be brought back.
  • Grading doesn't reveal anything hidden by vision or fog.
  • Fades follow each player's computer clock, so clocks should be roughly right.
