GridlessQoL
Quality-of-life improvements for gridless maps: tokens stop cleanly at walls and other tokens, and dead tokens move to the back.
Click the preview for the full-quality video.
Features
- Walls stop the whole token: a moving token stops where the edge of its shape (rectangle or circle) reaches a wall, not only its center, and the drag ruler shows where it will stop. By default collision follows each token's own v14 shape; Rectangle and Circle remain overrides.
- No stacking: a token can't end its move on top of another token; it stops just before it. Round and square tokens collide correctly with each other, including at corners. Passing by is fine, and tokens moved together don't block each other. Tokens you can't see aren't shown on the drag ruler, but the move still stops before them.
- Tokens block the path (optional): turn on Tokens Block the Path and a token stops at the first token in its way instead of passing through. Hold P while dropping to pass through tokens for that move (walls still stop it). The key can be changed in Configure Controls under Pass Through Tokens.
- Landing marker: while dragging, a marker in the moving token's collision shape shows where it will land.
- Forced moves are left alone: unconstrained movement, the Displace action, teleports and scripted moves that ignore walls aren't adjusted. Hold Shift while dropping to skip collision once.
- Dead tokens don't block: tokens with listed statuses (e.g. dead) can be walked over.
- Round tokens: new tokens on gridless scenes get a round shape instead of the default rectangle, however they're created.
- Dead to the back: tokens with a dead status are drawn behind the others and get their previous order back when revived. The GM's client makes the change, so a GM needs to be connected.
Settings
Grouped under headings in Configure Settings; settings that depend on another are indented under it and only shown while it's on. Both v14 ellipse variants count as circles on gridless maps; other token shapes use rectangles.
